Equine Colic Relief FAQ
Horse owners know how stressful it is when a horse starts showing signs of colic. Over the years, Billie has answered just about every question possible about Equine Colic Relief—how it works, how fast it helps, and how to use it safely. Here you’ll find honest answers and real experience to help you be prepared.
1. What is Equine Colic Relief?
Equine Colic Relief (ECR) is a natural liquid formula designed to help ease digestive discomfort and restore normal gut mobility in horses. It’s been trusted by riders, 4-H leaders, and trainers across the U.S. since 2008.
“I’ve used it many times on my own horses and seen it work time and time again.”

2. How does Equine Colic Relief work?
The key ingredients are sea moss, sea kelp, and peppermint oil, and these go to work quickly. The peppermint oil helps dissipate gas, while the sea moss and kelp draw gentle moisture into the intestines to soften impaction and get things moving again. Most horses show improvement within 10 to 30 minutes; some may take a few hours depending on the cause of colic.
“If a horse has colic, their gut quits moving. This helps get it going again.”

3. How do I give it to my horse?
ECR comes with a 4-ounce bottle and a 60cc syringe. Just pour the liquid into the syringe and give it like a wormer, placing the syringe into the back of the mouth, holding the head up, and watching for swallowing. For horses that don’t like syringes, Billie recommends offering small squirts into the side of the mouth and letting them lick it.
“I just filled the syringe and let her lick it up little by little… she got the whole bottle that way.”

4. Can I use it on the trail or away from home?
Yes. Keep it in your trailer or tack box so you’re ready anywhere. Just protect the bottle from extreme heat or freezing.
“If you’re going camping or trail riding, have one with you because inevitably somebody’s horse is going to colic.”

5. How many bottles should I keep on hand?
Billie always recommends keeping at least two bottles available. Most horses need only one, but occasionally a second dose is needed for more severe impaction or stress colic.
6. Is it safe for all horses?
Yes. ECR is made from all natural ingredients and is safe for all breeds and ages.
7. Can veterinarians use or sell ECR?
Absolutely. Several veterinarians around the country buy directly from Billie and use ECR in their practices. It’s a trusted supplement for horse owners and professionals alike.
8. How should I store it?
Store it at room temperature. Cold weather makes it thick, so warm it up slightly before use. Heat and cold don’t affect the quality.
9. What if my horse doesn’t improve after using it?
If your horse isn’t showing signs of relief after a reasonable time, always call your veterinarian. ECR can’t fix a twisted gut or blockage, but it can stop mild colic fast and prevent many emergencies.
“I tell people, ‘if your horse isn’t getting better, call the vet’. But most times, the vet arrives and the horse is already fine.”
